Yachts are getting longer and wider — but most owners still want to stay below the 500-gross-ton mark. The challenge is maximizing every inch of that space without compromise.
According to the president of Alia, the amount of space and the layout flow is crucial for an owner to fully enjoy their yacht. Maximizing available volume and ensuring comfort are vital considerations — and with the 55-meter Alia, the Antalya-based shipyard has risen to that challenge in extraordinary fashion.
With the help of virtual reality, the project focused on optimizing space planning and ergonomic design to create an overall open-plan layout — centered on owner usability and designed for effortless, peaceful family living at sea.

The yacht accommodates up to 12 guests in six staterooms — a rarity for a yacht of this tonnage. The crown jewel is a split-level master suite on the upper deck with a private 4-meter plunge pool on the foredeck, offering intimacy and exclusivity rarely seen at this size.
A sprawling beach club at the stern is another standout. By placing the tender bay in a hollow deck at the bow, tenders are easily accessible but hidden from view. The latticed mid-deck arrangement provides storage for two dinghies, jet skis, and water toys — without adding to the official volume calculation.

Seamless Flow Between Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
The clean, modern exterior is paired with a contemporary yet always sustainable interior design. To avoid harsh direct light, illumination is diffused throughout with soft, muted tones. Matte-finish bamboo slats on the ceiling help absorb natural sunlight from large floor-to-ceiling windows during the day.
Glass bulwarks on all decks provide uninterrupted exterior views. Large outdoor areas allow guests to enjoy the surroundings in a private, comfortable setting. A drop-down bulwark in the dining area replaces the traditional formal dining room with an al fresco breakfast area just two meters above the water.

Much of the seating on board is designed to face outwards for a genuine connection to the sea. Despite her generous volume and a top speed of 14 knots, twin Caterpillar C18 diesel engines — delivering 725 hp each — burn 35% less fuel than yachts of similar size, making the 55-meter Alia as responsible as she is spectacular.
